As we glide along the shores of Lake Ohrid, you’ll witness the ancient charm of the old town: whitewashed houses climbing the hills, the majestic Samuel’s Fortress standing guard, and the iconic Church of St. John at Kaneo perched dramatically on a cliff.
But the highlight? Vila Biljana – once the summer retreat of Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito. This elegant villa complex, now used by North Macedonia’s top officials, sits proudly above the lake. While we can’t dock there (security might frown upon that), we can certainly admire it from the water and share some intriguing tales about its storied past.
